The Track Lab @ Wheeler High School – 2-29-20
Coach, thank you for entering theLab @ Wheeler HS, located at 375 Holt Rd, Marietta.  Please find attached:
  • Meet Schedule, Final
  • Meet Programs (6U athletes will be separated from 8U athletes at the start line)
Meet Start Time.
  • 8:30 am
Parking.
  • Park in the lot behind the track. Look for the signs that read “Student Parking.”
  • Please do not park in the lot in front of the high school; overflow parking is available at East Cobb MS.
At the Gate.
  • Gates open at 9:00 a.m. for packet pick-up. Pick-up is available throughout the day.
  • The spectator fee is $5.00 cash (or $5.50 with card) with the exception of registered athletes, volunteers and officials, and persons under age 6 or over age 65.
  • Each club with 5+ athletes will have 3 passes available at the gate; please email operations@tracklab.events if you are requesting additional passes for the first time. 
Coaches’ Hospitality.
  • A light breakfast will be available for coaches during the 8:15 a.m. coaches meeting.
  • Tents are permitted only along the upper row of the home side bleachers, and anywhere along the visitor side bleachers.

Warm-Up.

  • The track is open for warm-up until 8:00 a.m.
Check-in/Clerking.
  • Check-in for running events will take place near the 100m start line, just outside the fence.
  • Parents and coaches may escort athletes 10U; otherwise, parents and coaches are not permitted in the clerking area.
  • After check-in, athletes should remain in the clerking area until escorted to the track.
  • Age divisions may be combined to expedite the meet.
  • All events will have a first call and final call; check-in at the first call.

Field Events.

  • Check-in for field events by reporting to the field event venue.
  • Javelin for 13+, shot put, and discus will be contested in the grassy field behind the track, on the other side of the baseball diamond.
  • Turbo javelin, high jump, and long jump will be contested center field.
  • All implements are provided with the exception of 600g+ javelins.
  • Athletes competing in a field event when a track event is called (a) should FIRST tell the field event official about the track event, (b) check-in and compete in the track event, and (c) return to the field event immediately after competing. (The high jump bar will not be lowered upon the athlete’s return.)
  • Athletes are permitted 3 jumps and 3 throws.

Awards.

  • Medals are awarded within each age division (including 6U), even if the event was contested as a combined section.

Results.

By the way, if you know anyone who is not running, but who is as excited about the 400m dash as we are, we have a cool job for them. Send them to the Meet Director before the event begins.
